Affordability of 166 homes protected as part of resident-owned communities

The residents of three manufactured-home communities in New Hampshire recently celebrated the purchase of the land and infrastructure under their homes, securing their future security and affordability as resident-owned communities (ROCs). The acquisitions, which took place over the last month, increased the number of resident-owned communities in New Hampshire to 156, comprised of nearly 9,500 homes across the state.

Senator Shaheen visited Fox Hill Cooperative, a resident-owned community, with Steve Saltzman and Johanna Beachy, of the Community Loan Fund; Executive Director/CEO Rob Dapice of NH Housing; Community Loan Fund Board Member Victoria Staunches (also Fox Hill Operations Manager); and homeowners of Fox Hill.

The bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is a critical step towards addressing our state's housing affordability crisis and recognizes the key role that manufactured housing plays as part of that effort. We're especially excited to see the PRICE program authorization included to pave the way for continued investment in manufactured housing communities and to preserve and expand this affordable homeownership opportunity for years to come.
