Policy and Advocacy Academy
ROC Training and Information, Resident-owned CommunitiesAdvocacy is needed to help shape policies that directly impact our lives. This training series prepares ROC members to engage in state-level legislative advocacy efforts. It provides an overview of the N.H. state legislature and the power of sharing your personal stories. It also discusses when and how to get involved by participating in public hearings, reaching out to legislators, and using other effective advocacy strategies. After four weeks, participants will feel more empowered to take action and influence state policy-making decisions to improve the lives of those living in manufactured- housing communities.
This four week course meets Thursdays in January from 5-8 pm (1/9, 1/16, 1/23 and 1/30). Last meeting is 11-3pm that includes a visit to the State House.
Course includes:
- Overview of the NH state legislature
- When and how to get involved by participating in public hearings, reaching out to legislators
- Learn the power of sharing your personal stories
- And other advocacy strategies
